
Juan Foyth – Player Profile
Juan Foyth is a 20 year old Argentine defender who joined the Spurs squad in August 2017 following a move from Estudiantes. His new contract means that he has committed himself to Tottenham Hotspur until 2022.
In his early days in the Estudiantes youth academy, Juan Foyth played as an attacking midfielder before finding his feet as a central defender at the age of 16. He made his professional debut for the Argentine club in March 2017.
He only made 9 appearances for the professional 1st team before signing for Spurs, and played in the FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League in his first season at the club. Foyth made his Premier League debut against Wolves in November 2018, conceding two penalties, but in his next appearance for Spurs scored the winning goal against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park
Foyth has represented Argentina at under 20 level and was called up to the full national team for the first time in October 2018. He then made his debut for Argentina in a friendly against Mexico in November 2018.
In September 2020, Foyth signed a new contract with Spurs and is now on loan to Spanish club Villarreal.
