The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has now replaced their old stadium ‘White Hart Lane’, which they played at for 118 years!
As the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was quite outdated, the club looked for different ways to modernise the stadium and improve the location for the players and the fans. However, they were unsure whether they should make a whole new stadium or refurbish an existing one, and they went ahead with renovating an existing one.
During the 2018/19 season, the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was opened and built with the ultimate matchday experience, including world-class facilities, state of the art design, and excellent acoustics. Thus, ensuring one of the best atmospheres of any club ground in Europe when you purchase your Spurs tickets.

Spurs v Brentford Previous Fixture
Spurs 1 – 3 Brentford (20th May 2023)
Spurs’ most recent match against Brentford was in May 2023 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Ahead of the match, Tottenham were sat in 7th place with 57 points with the battle for European football continuing with the Lilywhites competing with Brighton, Aston Villa and Brentford for a spot in the top seven. Ryan Mason’s side sat ahead of Villa on goal difference, whilst they were a point behind the Seagulls and 4 points ahead of the Bees.
Tottenham had unfortunately been defeated in their most recent match 2-1 against Aston Villa at Villa Park. Harry Kane got the goal late on for Spurs (90’ pen), whilst it was Jacob Ramey (8’) and Douglas Luiz (72’) who scored for Unai Emery’s side.
Meanwhile, Thomas Frank’s Brentford sat in 9th place on 53 points and certainly had an eye on a strong finish to the season with qualification for European Football for next season very much possible for Bees, as it is for Spurs.
Mason’s Lilywhites got off to the best of starts in this match, scoring in the opening 10 minutes of the match through Harry Kane who scored a sensational goal from outside of the penalty area to give his team the lead (8’).
Heung-Min Son then came close to making it 2-0 when, after receiving the ball from Harry Kane was unfortunate to see his well placed effort on goal well saved by Bees ‘keeper David Raya (11’).
Emerson Royal had a shot well blocked by the Brentford backline just after the 20 minute mark, which was followed by a Davinson Sanchez header which flew narrowly wide of the post following a Dejan Kulusevski cross (24’).
After a couple of chances on goal in the first half, Brentford finally got their equaliser through Bryan Mbeumo who found the bottom left corner after a pass into his feet from Yoane Wissa (50’).
Emerson Royal and Harry Kane both had chances to reinstate Spurs’ advantage, but it would be the Bees who would get the next goal.
It was Mbeumo again, who once again found the bottom left corner with less than half an hour of the match remaining. This time the forward had received the ball from Scottish full back Aaron Hickey via a through ball (62’).
Despite chances presenting themselves to Richarlison and Kane, it would be Frank’s Bees who put the game beyond Tottenham’s reach in the dying embers of the game. Bryan Mbeumo was involved once again, but this time he was able to find Yoane Wissa, who found the back of the net to make it 3-1 (88’).
The match ended 3-1, despite the chances that Tottenham had to score throughout the match.
Possession was dominated by Spurs, who had 61.8% possession compared to 38.2% for the Bees. Ryan Mason’s side also had the most efforts on target with 8, with Brentford having 4.
Following this match, Tottenham dropped down to 8th place after Aston Villa secured a point following their 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield. As for Brentford, they remained in 9th place, but they are now just a point behind the Lilywhites with a game to go.
