Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which was relatively outdated, has been renovated to a sleek modern design and is now where the fans and supporters enjoy the ultimate matchday experience. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has now replaced their old stadium ‘White Hart Lane’, which they played at for 118 years!
As the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was quite outdated, the club looked for different ways to modernise the stadium and improve the location for the players and the fans. However, they were unsure whether they should make a whole new stadium or refurbish an existing one, and they went ahead with renovating an existing one.
During the 2018/19 season, the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was opened and built with the ultimate matchday experience, including world-class facilities, state of the art design, and excellent acoustics. Thus, ensuring one of the best atmospheres of any club ground in Europe when you purchase your Spurs tickets.
Our Spurs hospitality packages also include different seating area options, providing you with a more fantastic choice of where to watch the game.

Spurs 1 – 0 Manchester City (5th February 2023)
Spurs’ most recent match against reigning Premier League Champions Manchester City came in February 2023 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The home team managed to secure a vital and impressive 1-0 victory that day against Pep Guardiola’s side.
Coming into this match, Tottenham occupied 5th place in the Premier League table with 36 points to their name. There were still very much in the race for Champions League qualification for the following season, as they were only 3 points behind Manchester United and Newcastle United, who sat in 4th and 3rd place, respectively.
Spurs were also 5 points ahead of high flying Brighton and Fulham, who rounded off the top seven in the Premier League table.
In their most recent match before taking on the champions, the Lilywhites had been 1-0 winners against Marco Silva’s Fulham at Craven Cottage. Unsurprisingly, it was Harry Kane (45+1’) who got the only goal of the game to earn a vital three points. This goal also saw Kane match the record of Jimmy Greaves to become the joint top goal scorer in Tottenham’s history.
As for Manchester City, they sat in 2nd place in the Premier League with 45 points. Guardiola’s side were looking to secure a second successive title, but they were 5 points adrift of Arsenal, who occupied top spot with a game in hand. The Cityzens had a comfortable 6 point lead on Newcastle and rivals Manchester United in 3rd and 4th place, respectively.
The visitors did pile on the early pressure, with both sides seeking the opening goal of the game. Riyad Mahrez had his shot on goal blocked well by the Spurs defenders before summer signing Manuel Akanji forced a fantastic save from Hugo Lloris a few moments later (5’).
Tottenham Hotspur had their first significant chance of the match just after the 10-minute mark, resulting in a vital goal for the home side. It was Harry Kane with the goal to give his side the lead against the reigning league champions (15’).
This was a record-breaking goal for Harry Kane, who, in finding the net against City, broke Jimmy Greaves’ long-standing record to become Tottenham’s all-time leading goal scorer in all competitions.
City did come close to an equaliser a few minutes later through Bernardo Silva. The Portugal international saw his long-range effort get saved well by Hugo Lloris (19’).
Dejan Kulusevski almost made it 2-0 to the home team just after the half-hour mark when his shot from outside of the box was blocked well by the Manchester City defenders (30’).
Harry Kane and Eric Dier both had chances to add to the scoreline at the end of the first half, but all of their respective efforts on goal were blocked well by the City defenders (44’). This meant that the two teams went into the halftime break, with Spurs possessing a deserved lead.
Then, late on in the second half, Kane had another chance to double his side’s advantage, only for Manchester City’s Brazilian Goalkeeper Ederson to make what was a fantastic save to deny Spurs’ leading goal scorer (70’).
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg then went close to putting the game out of City’s reach, but he saw his shot fly narrowly wide of the post after receiving the ball from Harry Kane (77’).
Tottenham were reduced to 10 men in the dying embers of the match when Argentinian central defender Cristian Romero was sent off following a second yellow card (87’). This red card did not have a significant impact, as Tottenham went on to secure an impressive 1-0 Premier League win against reigning champions Manchester City.
It was City who had the most possession, with 64.8% compared to Tottenham’s 35.2%. Pep Guardiola’s side also had more shots on target, with 5 as opposed to Spurs’ 3. Tottenham were the more clinical team in the match.
