Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which was relatively outdated, has been renovated to a sleek modern design and is now where the fans and supporters enjoy the ultimate matchday experience. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has now replaced their old stadium ‘White Hart Lane’, which they played at for 118 years!
As the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was quite outdated, the club looked for different ways to modernise the stadium and improve the location for the players and the fans. However, they were unsure whether they should make a whole new stadium or refurbish an existing one, and they went ahead with renovating an existing one.
During the 2018/19 season, the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was opened and built with the ultimate matchday experience, including world-class facilities, state of the art design, and excellent acoustics. Thus, ensuring one of the best atmospheres of any club ground in Europe when you purchase your Spurs tickets.

Spurs v Brighton Previous Fixture
Spurs 2 – 1 Brighton (Saturday 10th February 2024)
Tottenham Hotspur, led by Ange Postecoglou, last took on Fabian Hürzeler’s Brighton side in the Premier League back on Saturday, 10th February 2024, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs were firmly in the running in what was an enthralling race for the UEFA Champions League places, and a win against the Seagulls would most certainly enhance their chances of doing so.
Ahead of this game against Brighton, Spurs sat in 5th place with 44 points, with a gap of just 2 points separating them from Aston Villa in the final UEFA Champions League Qualification place in 4th. If the Lilywhites emerged victorious against the Seagulls in North London, they would climb into the top four with a win, should Villa suffer defeat.
Tottenham’s most recent game, played ahead of their fixture against the Seagulls from the South Coast, was a 2 – 2 draw with Sean Dyche’s Everton side at Goodison Park. Richarlison scored both goals for Tottenham Hotspur that day (4’, 41’). In contrast, a Jack Harrison goal (30’) and a dramatic late equaliser in second-half stoppage time from England international central defender Jarrad Branthwaite (90+4’) ensured a stalemate.
Meanwhile, Brighton sat in 8th place with 35 points ahead of kick-off against Ange Postecoglou and his Spurs side. And, with all three points, Fabian Hürzeler’s Seagulls side could rise as high as 6th place, should other results go their way, as well as their own.
In their most recent game before facing their North London counterparts, the Seagulls had beaten M23 Derby rivals Crystal Palace at the Amex Stadium, where Brighton came away as emphatic 4 – 1 winners on the South Coast against the Eagles. Lewis Dunk (3’), Jack Hinshelwood (33’), Facundo Buonanotte (34’), and Joao Pedro (85’) got the goals for the hosts, whilst it was Jean-Philippe Mateta who scored the goal for Palace that day (71’).
Ultimately, it was a tight, highly competitive, and vital 2 – 1 win for Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs against Brighton in the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Brighton got the first opportunity to score the opening goal when ex-Arsenal and Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck forced a great save from Tottenham’s Italian Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario (1’).
Welbeck was then fouled in the Brighton penalty area with almost twenty minutes gone to win a penalty. German international midfielder Pascal Gross stepped up to take the spot kick, which he put away into the back of the net to go 1 – 0 up against hosts Spurs (17’).
Richarlison had a shot blocked a few minutes later before the Brazilian forced a great save from Brighton Goalkeeper Jason Steele. Timo Werner then narrowly missed the target from just outside the box just a second later, so it remained goalless (22’).
Then, just before half-time, Spurs had a few more efforts on goal as they looked for an equaliser to restore parity on the night. Firstly, Richarlison narrowly missed the target, with the ball flying past the left post (36’) before Dejan Kulusevski forced a sensational save from Steele just a few minutes later (38’).
Then, shortly after this chance came and went for the Sweden international forward, Richarlison had another effort on goal, which, this time, was blocked very well by the Brighton defenders, who kept the scoreline in this game at 1 – 0 to the Seagulls (41’).
The half-time whistle then went, and the visitors, Brighton, held a slender one-goal lead going into the second half of this contest.
Then, early on into the second half, parity in the game was finally restored when Senegalese central midfielder Pape Matar Sarr scored for Spurs to make it 1 – 1. He managed to find the back of the net from a tight and difficult angle to put his team on level terms (61’).
Just five minutes after this equalising goal, Brennan Johnson came close to giving his side the lead for the first time in this contest, only for Seagulls Stopper Jason Steele to make the save to deny the Wales international forward (66’).
Johnson scored the all-important winning goal for Spurs to make it 2 – 1 to the hosts at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium deep into stoppage time. The forward found the back of the net with a fierce and clinical effort from very close range after he had received a ball into his feet from Son Heung-Min (90+6’).
The full-time whistle confirmed a vital 2 – 1 win for Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs against Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League.
Spurs had the most possession, with at least 52.5% of the ball, compared with the Seagulls’ total of 47.5%. Ange Postecoglou’s hosts also had the most shots on target, with six compared with 3 for Brighton.
Following this competitive, enthralling, and vital win and three points for Tottenham Hotspur, they climbed up the table, rising to 4th place and into the final UEFA Champions League spot with a gap of one point separating them from Unai Emery’s Aston Villa in 5th. As for Brighton, the Seagulls dropped down to 9th place.
