Dejan Kulusevski Player Profile
Dejan Kulusevski is a Swedish international forward, standing at 6ft 1in. He is a quick player who is very creative and he certainly has an eye for a goal. He signed for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur on loan in January 2022.
His career began in Sweden with then second tier side IF Brommapojkarna in 2006, before leaving the club for Italian Serie A side Atalanta in 2016.
He found senior appearances hard to find, making only 3 appearances for the senior team with most of his game time coming with the youth teams. His debut came as a substitute in a 5-0 away league success against Frosinone in January 2019.
The forward spent the rest of his time at Atalanta on loan with Parma, who were in Italy’s top flight. He officially started his spell with Parma in July 2019 – going on to make 39 appearances in all competitions, scoring 10 goals with 9 assists.
This was a fantastic season for the forward, who also made his senior Sweden debut as a substitute in a 3-0 victory against the Faroe Islands. He caught the eye of Italian giants Juventus who decided to sign him on a permanent deal in January 2020 for €35m (£29.7m).
He was sent back out on loan to Parma for the remainder of the 2019/20 season. Parma went on to finish in 11th that season, finishing with 49 points.
The 2020/21 campaign was his first at the Old Lady, going on to make his senior debut against Sampdoria, scoring his first goal for the club. He made 35 league appearances that season, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists to boot.
Juventus finished in 4th place that season with 78 points. Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan won the Serie A title that season, with 91 points to their tally.
Kulusevski played a part in the first half of Juventus’ 2021/22 Serie A season, making 20 appearances, scoring a goal as well as providing 3 assists for his teammates.
He signed for Spurs on an 18 month loan deal in January 2022 with an option to make the transfer permanent when the loan spell ends.
During the remainder of the 2021/22 season, the Sweden international made 18 Premier League appearances for Tottenham, finding the back of the net of 5 occasions, whilst also providing 8 assists.
Dejan has spent some of the 2022/23 season injured, but he has still managed to make 9 league appearances, scoring a goal and providing 5 assists.
Kulusevski has been a fantastic signing for Spurs, with fans hoping that he will sign on a permanent deal when his loan spell from Juventus ends.
