Christian Eriksen Stats
Christian Eriksen is a central attacking midfielder (CAM) and joined Spurs in 2013. Since then he has been an influential and consistent performer for Tottenham Hotspur.
After impressing in a junior capacity in his native home of Denmark, Christian signed for Ajax in 2008. He totalled 161 performances for the Dutch club and found the net 33 times. Eriksen’s impressive stint at the club saw him decorated with both domestic and foreign accolades. Aside from securing the Eredivisie title with Ajax three years in a row between 2011 and 2013, Eriksen was also awarded: Dutch Football Talent of the Year, Ajax Talent of the Year, and Danish Talent of the Year.
Spurs signed Eriksen in August 2013 for a deal thought to be around £11m. He made his debut against Norwich and provided an assist in the 2-0 win. He scored his first Spurs goal in the Europa League against Norweigan side Tromsø IL. By the end of a successful first campaign for Spurs, Eriksen has scored ten goals and got 13 assists in all competitions.
In the 2014-15 campaign, Eriksen scored late winners in the Premier League against Aston Villa, Hull City and Swansea in Mauricio Pochettino’s first season at the club. He built on his goal tally in the second season, scoring 12 goals. He was the only Spurs player to play in every single Premier League game of that season and was noted for the flair with which he scored his goals as well as his instrumental role in attacking midfield.
In the following season, Eriksen signed a new long-term contract with the club and was one of Spurs’ key players as they finished second in the Premier League. He scored 8 goals and recorded 15 assists in the Premier League that campaign and won the Tottenham Hotspur Player of the Season award for the second time.
By scoring against West Ham in September 2017, Eriksen broke the record of most Premier League goals scored by a player from Denmark. He also scored the third fastest Premier League goal in history with the opener against Manchester United later that year. Eriksen was named in the 2017/18 PFA Team of the Year for the first time after another impressive Premier League campaign for Spurs.
Christian Eriksen made his senior debut for Denmark in 2010 against Austria; he was the youngest player to attend the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and again represented his nation in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
