Spurs v Preston North End FA Cup Team News

Latest Spurs Team News

Spurs come into their fourth round FA Cup tie against Preston after beating Portsmouth 1-0 in the previous round. The tie kicks off at 6pm.

Preston began their FA Cup campaign in the third round against Huddersfield Town, beating them 3-1.

Head Coach Antonio Conte will be looking to guide Tottenham to a ninth FA Cup win, with their most recent triumph in the competition coming in 1991.

Harry Kane was able to play against Fulham after some illness concerns, and he scored against The Cottagers matching Jimmy Greaves’ decade’s old record of 266 goals for Tottenham. Should he find the back of the net against Preston, he will break the record.

Unfortunately, there are doubts as to whether Kane will play against Preston.

Spurs Assistant Head Coach Cristian Stellini said (Via tottenham.com): “The most important thing we have to analyse is the condition of Harry. He played our last match with illness. This week, he trained only today. He’s not perfect, but he wants to travel with us, and he wants to be involved in the game.”

There is good news for Spurs fans as new signing Arnaut Danjuma, who joined from Spanish Club Villarreal on loan this week is available to make his debut, and Stellini expressed his and the club’s delight at bringing the Dutchman to the club.

He said (Via tottenham.com): “He has experience, because he’s played good Champions League last season. He is a player that can play like a striker, like a winger. He has a lot of positions he can cover, so we are happy, and we are looking forward to working with him.”

Tottenham will undoubtedly be the favourites to secure their spot in the fifth round of the FA Cup as they look to win their first piece of major silverware since their League Cup success in 2008, where they beat Chelsea 2-1, with goals coming from Dimitar Berbatov and Jonathan Woodgate.
