Spurs Ladies lose out to Brighton 2-0

After a month away from action, the Spurs Ladies have unfortunately lost twice within a week since returning to the pitch. Brighton and Hove Albion got the better of the Spurs Ladies two goals to nil at Culver Road. Brighton started the match coming off the back of a 4-1 win against Sheffield, whereas Tottenham Hotspur had suffered a 3-0 loss to undefeated table-toppers Doncaster Belles. Brighton were brimming with confidence and had the chance to take the lead within the first five minutes of gameplay. Ini Umotong capitalised on the sluggish Spurs defending; keeper Chloe Morgan was out of […]

Spurs Ladies lose out to League leaders

The fierce Doncaster Belles increase their undefeated run in the WSL2 with a comfortable 3-0 over the Spurs Ladies. It was a match of missed chances for Tottenham Hotspur who hadn’t played a competitive game for over a month. After an extended hiatus away from the pitch, it was actually the Spurs Ladies who started the game with more energy and more focus to score. Key player Bianca Baptiste demonstrated her silky skills early on and forced Doncaster’s Bradley-Aukland to head the ball within an inch of her own goal post.  The Belles began to find their stride shortly after […]

Spurs Ladies score six against Watford

Spurs Ladies 6-0 Watford Match Report The Spurs ladies played Watford off the park as Spurs star Sarah Wiltshire claimed a hat-trick against her former club. Tottenham Hotspur’s first goal came in the 19th minute when Coral-Jane Haines delivered a long pass up to Wiltshire, who beat Watford keeper Fran Kitching with a fabulous lofted shot that dipped into the top right-hand corner. It didn’t take long for the Lilywhite Ladies to double the lead after Lucia Leon found an open net with ease. Wiltshire was simply in fine form and managed to put her side three to the good […]

Spurs Ladies end their winless streak of seven

Spurs started well, however, it was Oxford that secured the first goal. Ellis Hillman found some space down the left, and spotted Chloe Chivers in the middle of the box with a curling cross, only for the Oxford forward to head it past the Lilywhite keeper. Not long after, Wendy Martin had a chance to equalise for Spurs after finding herself in a one-on-one with the Oxford keeper Demi Lambourne. However, the Spurs forward was bested by Lambourne who kept the lead intact. The Spurs equaliser came in the 68th minute. Wiltshire’s shot on goal was blocked with a handball […]

Spurs Ladies kicked out of the FA Cup

Top of the League Doncaster Belles scored three goals against the Spurs ladies on Sunday. Tottenham have never advanced as far as the 5th round of the FA Cup and the WSL2 table-toppers ensured they won’t do so anytime soon. Spurs started the game well and pressed Doncaster from the outset. Midfielder Bianca Baptiste had a chance at goal within a minute of play, but Sophie Bradley got in the way to diffuse the situation. However, just a minute later, the Belles went 1-0 up after scoring off the inside of the post past Toni-Anne Wayne. The Spurs ladies reacted […]

FA Cup 4th Round: Spurs Ladies vs. Doncaster Belles

This year’s Women’s FA Cup draw is a very important one for the Spurs Ladies for one significant reason: it is the first time they are entering the competition at this fourth-round stage. The Lilywhite ladies were play-off champions in the Premier League last year, securing them a spot – for the first time – in the FA Women’s Super League (WSL2). On Sunday the 4th February, Spurs ladies take on WSL2 leaders, the Doncaster Belles, in what will be a tantalising 4th round FA Cup clash. Spurs will be looking to advance to the 5th round for the first […]

Spurs Ladies Pipped to the Post in 4-3 Defeat

The Tottenham Hotspur ladies were narrowly beaten 4-3 in a thrilling seven-goal match against Sheffield FC. Both teams have struggled to find form after a string of difficult results, which only meant that there was more to lose as the two sides came head to head on Sunday. It was Sheffield’s Melissa Johnson who opened the scoring in the 14th minute after slotting home a rebound following a parry of Hannah Cain’s initial effort. Johnson was happy to find the net as she had previously just had a shot that ended up narrowly wide of the target. The lead didn’t […]
