Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which was relatively outdated, has been renovated to a sleek modern design and is now where the fans and supporters enjoy the ultimate matchday experience. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has now replaced their old stadium ‘White Hart Lane’, which they played at for 118 years!
As the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was quite outdated, the club looked for different ways to modernise the stadium and improve the location for the players and the fans. However, they were unsure whether they should make a whole new stadium or refurbish an existing one, and they went ahead with renovating an existing one.
During the 2018/19 season, the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was opened and built with the ultimate matchday experience, including world-class facilities, state of the art design, and excellent acoustics. Thus, ensuring one of the best atmospheres of any club ground in Europe when you purchase your Spurs tickets.

Spurs v Elfsborg Previous Fixture
Spurs, led by their Australian Head Coach Ange Postecoglou, are set to take on Oscar Hiljemark’s Elfsborg in this crucial match in the League Phase of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Tottenham Hotspur are amongst the favourites to win the competition this year.
The Lilywhites will be targeting a third Europa League title, having won it on two previous occasions when it was known as the UEFA Cup. The first of these titles was won in 1972, before a second followed twelve years later in 1984.
Their inaugural win in 1972 came over two legs against their West Midlands counterparts Wolves, who they were able to beat 3 – 2 on aggregate. In the first leg at Molineux, Spurs won 2 – 1 thanks to goals from Martin Chivers (57’, 87’), whilst it was James McCalliog who was the scorer of the home side’s only goal that day (72’).
The second leg then followed at White Hart Lane, with the game ending in a 1 – 1 draw in North London. It was the hosts who took the lead with almost half an hour gone in the game thanks to Alan Mullery (29’), before an equalising goal to restore parity came in the form of a David Wagstaffe goal late on in the first half (40’).
Belgian heavyweights Anderlecht were the opponents for Tottenham Hotspur in the two legged 1984 UEFA Cup Final, which after it finished 2 – 2 on aggregate resulted in a penalty shoot out which Spurs won 4 – 3 in the end.
The first leg in Brussels ended in a 1 – 1 draw, with Paul Miller giving the visiting side the lead early on in the second half (57’), before a goal from Morten Olsen restored parity late on in the contest, making it 1 – 1 (85’).
The second leg also ended in a 1 – 1 draw, but this time it was Anderlecht who took the lead through a goal midway through the second half from Alexandre Czerniatynski (60’), before the hosts, Spurs, equalised late on in the contest thanks to a goal from Graham Roberts (84’).
Spurs have also won the European Cup Winners’ Cup, which they did all the way back in the 1962/63 season, where they were able to beat Spanish Club Atletico Madrid 5 – 1 in the Final thanks to goals from Jimmy Greaves (16’, 80’), John White (35’), and Terry Dyson (67’, 85’).
Moving on to Elfsborg, they have not won a European title as of yet. The furthest they have made it into the UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League is the Group Stage, and the Swedish outfit will be looking to progress into the knockout stages for the first time in the club’s history this season.
This match will see Spurs take on Elfsborg for the first time in their respective histories – it is set to be a historic occasion, with there to be an awesome atmosphere to boot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London.
