Tottenham advance through to the 4th round of the FA Cup after netting three against Wimbledon. Jimmy Abdou tested Vorm with a rocket shot on the edge of the area, forcing the Spurs keeper to parry it against his own framework.

Although Wimbledon defended well, Spurs were firmly in control and spent the majority of the match pressing the visitors in their own half. Both Lamela and Kane failed to convert efforts in a frustrating first half for Spurs. Abdou tested Vorm against after looping a header from a set piece towards Vorm, who managed to tip it over the bar.

Spurs came out determined to score in the second half. After a strike against the post from Mousa Dembele, Kane opened the scoring in the 63rd minute. Kane slid into the area to reach Sissoko’s low driven cross and roof it past Long. Kane doubled up two minutes later with a tap-in from six yards out. A deflected Kyle Walker-Peters pass found its way into Kane’s vicinity, and then the Englishman converted with ease. Vertonghen claimed the third goal in the 71st minute with a lightning strike to the top left-hand corner.

Wimbledon were clearly tired and couldn’t keep up when attempting to mark the more agile Spurs players. Wimbledon played admirably in the first hour and worked laboriously to keep the Lilywhites at bay. However, as the FA Cup clash wore on, so did the Wimbledon players. As gaps appeared, Tottenham no longer struggled to punish the visitors in what resulted in a comfortable 3-0 win.
