Spurs Latest Transfer News

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping everyone on the edge of their seats this transfer window – one of the few Premier League clubs yet to announce a signing this summer.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, a shrewd businessman, always has an eye for a bargain.

But it hasn’t stopped the rumour machine running riot, though whether any of it is true, only time will tell.

Talk is that Tottenham Hotspur are bracing themselves for a £50 million bid from Real Madrid for Kieran Trippier.

The England star, dubbed the “Bury Beckham”, had an excellent World Cup campaign and the wing-back was named in Fifa’s Team of the Tournament; the result of a series of excellent performances including a wonderful free-kick against Croatia, some devastating set-piece deliveries and bombing runs down the right flank.

All summer Spurs have also been linked with Jack Grealish, of Aston Villa, although that looks less likely now the Championship club have been taken over by Egyptian businessman Nassef Sawris and United States co-investor Wes Edens.

Word out of Germany is that Tottenham Hotspur are set to miss out on transfer target Benjamin Pavard as the Stuttgart defender looks set to move to Bayern Munich.

The World Cup winner put himself on the map when scoring a stunner against Argentina. The 22-year-old is comfortable playing either as a centre-back or right-back.

Arsenal are reportedly close to signing Barcelona midfielder, and supposed Tottenham Hotspur target, Andre Gomes on loan.

The Gunners have been tipped to lure Gomes away from the Catalan giants, with the player keen to leave the Nou Camp after struggling for game time under Ernesto Valverde last season.

Germany international Max Meyer is looking for a new club after leaving Schalke, and Spurs are said to be eyeing him up.

However, Meyer’s wage demands are an obstacle, with the 22-year-old allegedly after £135,000-a-week.

Other punditry suggest Tottenham Hotspur have contacted Juventus over a potential deal for Gonzalo Higuain, Mauricio Pochettino is still an admirer of Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, while Domagoj Vida, who had an outstanding World Cup with Croatia, may also be of interest.

However the club have managed to tie down two first team squad players to long-term contracts.

Son Heung-min has signed a five-year extension until 2023

The 26-year-old South Korean joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, and has scored 47 times in 140 outings for the North London side.

And Argentine forward Erik Lamela has signed until 2022 despite a series of injury woes.

Meanwhile Dutch striker flop Vincent Janssen is thought to be on his way out via another loan deal with Turkish side Fenerbahce.
