Erik Lamela has suffered two significant injuries since joining Spurs

Lamela suffered a back injury in the 2013-14 Premier League season, which sidelined the midfielder for the entire season after 29th December. Lamela had surgery on his left hip in April 2017 and on his right hip in May. The whole injury battle took 13 months to recover from, and the 25-year-old Argentine claimed that he genuinely thought it would end his career. Since October 2016, Erik Lamela did not make an appearance for the senior Spurs squad until the Premier League match against Leicester on the 28th November 2017. After being on the pitch for just over two minutes Lamela assisted Kane for a goal. Erik joined the club in 2013 for £30m from Roma and has had an unfortunate time with injuries. His contract is set to expire in the summer of 2019.
