Gareth Bale – Player Profile
Spurs fans rejoiced when it was announced that Gareth Bale would return to Tottenham on loan from Real Madrid.
The 31-year-old has become a Spurs legend, having first joined the team back in 2007. Continuously putting up impressive performances, Bale broke records and won awards during his time at the club. In 2013, he managed to win both the PFA Players’ Player of The Year and Young Player of the Year award as well as FWA Footballer of The Year.
2013 saw Bale make his way over to Real Madrid, signing one of the biggest deals in football history. The transfer fee was said to be in the region of £77 million – £85 million!
Though Bale contributed massively to the team, he reportedly locked horns with manager Zinedine Zidane and was mostly snubbed during the 2019/20 season.
It was Spurs manager, Jose Mourinho, who was keen to get Bale’s career back on track and into a team where he could thoroughly thrive once again. When Bale made his way to the Tottenham Hotspur training ground to sign his one-year loan deal, he was unsurprisingly met by swarms of cheering fans, all delighted to have him back on board.
We can’t wait to see Bale back on the field once again and hopefully he will give Spurs that extra boost this season.
