Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United Premier League Match Preview

Ange Postecoglou will look to lead his side to victory against the Red Devils in his first home game in charge on Spurs.

Spurs are set to go head to head with Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in what will be Head Coach Ange Postecoglou’s first home game in charge. A win here against the Red Devils would not only enhance hopes of a return to European football but also be a landmark victory early on in the Postecoglou era.

As of the time of writing, Tottenham currently sit in 9th place, albeit after just one game having been played. Brentford was their opponent in the opening game of the season, where the two teams played out a 2 – 2 draw at the GTech Community Stadium.

Cristian Romero gave the away side the lead (11’) before goals from Bryan Mbeumo (27’) and Yoane Wissa gave the Bees the lead with just over half an hour gone (36’). In what was an enthralling first half, Emerson Royal found the net with a powerful finish after receiving the ball from summer signing James Maddison in first-half stoppage time (45+4’).

The Red Devils will also see an Argentinian defender return, as Lisandro Martinez is set to make a comeback after an injury suffered against Wolves.

Both clubs have good teams with great forward lines that will pose a considerable threat to their opponent. Even without Kane, a forward line for Spurs containing the likes of Son and Dejan Kulusevski should still be a problem for the Red Devils’ back line.
