Tottenham Hotspur looks set to sign PSG midfielder Lucas Moura following a successful medical today at the Tottenham training ground. This is a big move from Pochettino, who hasn’t completed a deadline day signing in the January transfer window since the arrival of Dele Alli in 2015.
Moura, 25, has recently lost favour at Paris Saint-Germain, only making 5 league appearances for the French giants during the 2017-18 campaign. However, Moura has proved himself a hot and talented player for PSG in his time with the club, scoring 45 goals in 150 appearances. He’s won four league titles and three cups with PSG and is now looking for regular first team football in the heart of Tottenham Hotspur’s squad.
With the mighty Spurs pushing for a top-four finish in the Premier League this year, and with the Champions League just around the corner, Spurs hope that Moura will strengthen the squad as they hope to continue their current streak of success.
The Brazilian talent has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Man United, Valencia and Sevilla; but has chosen Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur as his next destination. The Spurs number 27 shirt will be given to Lucas on his arrival.

Tottenham Hotspur legend Glenn Hoddle has commented positively on the arrival of Moura, believing that he is exactly the sort of player Tottenham needs with their upcoming run of games inside and outside of the Premier League. The former Spurs midfielder said,
“On reflection, he looks like he’s got pedigree…It’s come at a time when they’ve got a good squad and it’s if they can keep the squad together”
With the construction of their new stadium well under way, Mauricio Pochettino’s Lilywhites look to become bigger, better. The new stadium would have cost the club a pretty penny, and signing a new Brazilian international midfielder for a reported fee of £25m may just indicate both Lucas Moura’s worth and Pochettino’s ambitious for his Spurs side.
The new Spurs stadium is aimed to be opened for the 2018-19 Premier League season, where Lucas Moura and other Spurs stars look to write the next page of the club’s history. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will boast a capacity of approximately 62,000 and will offer a wide range of corporate hospitality packages – so the game we all love can be enjoyed with maximum comfort. Eventmasters Travel Ltd are proud resellers of Tottenham hospitality packages and look forward to sharing the excitement that Lucas and his new teammates can bring to the wonderful new stadium.
