Spurs players are confident they can eliminate Juventus
Tottenham Hotspur are on an incredible run of form lately; in all competitions, they are unbeaten in 17 matches. With such success comes a certain confidence that topples giants. Confidence was arguably the main arrow in Leicester’s quiver when the won the Premier League not too long ago; both the Spurs players and their fan base seem to be imbued with the same morale ahead of the Champions League clash with Juventus.
Spurs vs Juventus
One player that has been in inspired form as of late is the tremendous Heung-Min Son. In the last week alone, Son scored two in the F.A Cup and two against Huddersfield in the league. Commenting on the upcoming challenge against the Old Lady at Wembley, Son told Sky Sports News that,
“We are looking forward to playing against a good team, a good opponent… You can see how well Tottenham play. We deserve to play in the Champions League to the quarter-final or even more.”
Since Spurs managed to score two away goals, courtesy of Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane, this means that even if the result on Wednesday ended 0-0, or even 1-1, then Tottenham Hotspur would advance through to the quarter-finals. Current Premier League top scorer Harry Kane, in an interview with the Evening Standard, stressed the importance of remaining a cool head in the second leg,
“we were not the favourites before but people are looking at us after that performance at Juventus and saying we should go through now. We have got to cope with that and see how we come through it.”

Even former boss Tim Sherwood has come out and told Sky Sports that,
“They can win the Champions League. On their day they can beat anyone, they’ve shown that.”
Could Spurs bring back the Champions League trophy to their new home next season?
No doubt that Spurs have what it takes to overcome Juventus and progress even further through this competition. They have depth in their squad, a short injury list, a strong-willed coach and most of all, they have an air of confidence that binds the squad and pushes them forward. With each success comes another added weight to the force of confidence. And if they topple the Italian Giants, Spurs might well go on and beat anyone that stands in their way.
Whilst Spurs grow more confident with every win, North London rivals Arsenal struggle to muster any sort of morale as they suffer four defeats on the bounce. Arsenal’s defeat to Brighton on the weekend was the club’s 10th loss this season: Spurs have only lost nine league matches in their last two seasons. North London is most certainly no longer red, and the Champions League trophy is no longer an unrealistic goal for this fiery Tottenham Hotspur team.
