Although the Premier League has been taking much of our attention, the recent announcements of the Carabao Cup and Champions League fixtures have certainly got us excited! Here is all you’ll need to know about Spurs’ other upcoming fixtures.
The fixture announcements on the 30th August mark the beginning of the third round of the Carabao Cup, and Spurs’ first foray into the competition so far. They will be playing Watford on the 25th September. As both the new stadium and Wembley will be unavailable to host this ‘home’ match, the club has applied for a special dispensation to host the match at neutral venue. In a statement, a Carabao Cup representative said;
As a result of Tottenham Hotspur being drawn at home to Watford in Round Three of the Carabao Cup and due to the unavailability of Wembley Stadium and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium week commencing 24 September, the Club has applied for a special dispensation from the EFL Board to play their tie at a neutral venue.
“The Board will now consider this request at its next meeting on Thursday September 6.” (The Sun)
The draw on the 30th August, immediately preceding the Carabao Cup draw, signals the beginning of the play-off stage for this seasons Champions League. Tottenham will face off against Inter Milan, Barcelona, and Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

The first home match of the group against Barcelona is confirmed for Wembley on the 3rd October, with the other away games in November to be confirmed nearer the date. It’s a tough group, with all sides bringing heavy hitters to the table, including former Spurs man Luka Modric for Inter Milan and Lionel Messi for Barcelona, but Harry Kane is looking forward to it!
