Bryan Gil is a 5ft 7in Spanish winger who currently plays for Tottenham Hotspur, signing from Spanish club Sevilla in August 2021.

Beginnings at Sevilla and loan spells at Leganes and Eibar (2012 – 2021)

Bryan Gil was signed by Sevilla at a young age in 2012, immediately going into their youth academy. He made his senior debut for Sevilla’s B Team in a Segunda Division B (Spanish Third Tier) against UD Ibiza on 26th August 2018. Gil and Sevilla won the match 1-0.

His debut for Sevilla’s first team came on 6th January 2019. He was a late substitute against Atletico Madrid. In scoring his goal in an emphatic 5-0 win against Rayo Vallecano in April of that year, Gil broke a record – he became the first player born in the 21st Century to score in La Liga.

Gil scored a goal, as well as providing an assist for his teammates in his 11 La Liga appearances over the course of the 2018/19 season. Gil and Sevilla finished 6th in the league that season, with 59 points.

The Spanish forward only made 7 appearances in all competitions the following season (2019/20) for Sevilla in a season where the Rojiblancos finished 4th in La Liga with 70 points to their name after 38 matches.

He did score his first ever goal in European football on 29th January 2019 against Azerbaijan side Qarabag. However, his lack of football meant that he was loaned out to fellow La Liga side Leganes in January 2020.

Loan Spell at Leganes (2020)

He made 12 La Liga appearances for the club, scoring a goal in a season which unfortunately saw Gil and Leganes relegated from La Liga after getting 33 points from 38 games, which left them in 18th place.

Loan Spell at Eibar (2020 – 2021)

In the 2020/21 season, he was loaned out to another La Liga side in the form of Eibar in October 2020. He made 28 appearances for the club that season where he caught the eye with his performances, getting 3 assists and 4 goals.

Unfortunately, Gil and Eibar finished bottom of La Liga with 30 points after 38 games had been played.

His performances earned him his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Transfer to Tottenham Hotspur and loan spell at Valencia (2021 – Present)

Bryan Gil signed for Spurs in a part exchange deal with Sevilla. Erik Lamela went the other way with Spurs paying a reported £21.6m (€30m).

He made 20 appearances in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham in the 2021/22 season before being sent out to Valencia on loan for the remainder of the season in January 2022. He made 17 appearances that saw Los Che finish 9th with 48 points.

So far this season (2022/23), Bryan Gil has made 6 appearances for Spurs in all competitions.
