Spurs vs Juventus – Champions League – 07.03.18 – Preview

Match Preview: Spurs vs Juventus

Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus come head to head again at Wembley Stadium on the 7th March to play their second leg match in the Champions League 1st KO round. The score is currently 2-2 on aggregate after a blinding away performance from the Lilywhites. As this is the Champions League, those two precious away goals tip the advantage into Spurs’ favour.

If Tottenham Hotspur were to advance through to the quarter-finals this would only be the second time in the club’s history that they would have got this far in the competition. However, the Italian giants have reached the Champions League final in two of the past three tournaments. They are a formidable opponent for Spurs and will no doubt throw their full weight of experience and class at Spurs at Wembley.

Injuries & Team News

Toby Alderweireld has been making intermittent appearances for Tottenham Hotspur in their domestic cup matches but will almost certainly not feature in this match. His Belgian counterpart however, Jan Vertonghen, should see a spot in the Spurs starting XI.

For the Old Lady, Federico Bernardeschi has suffered a knee injury and is therefore less than likely to feature, whilst Gonzalo Higuain should be back to full fitness after knocking his ankle against Torino.

Form

Both teams have been on excellent form both in their respective leagues and domestic cups. Spurs are currently 4th in the Premier League whilst Juventus are 2nd in Serie A. Here is a break-down of the last 6 matches:
