The 22-year-old box-to-box midfielder joins Spurs on a five-year deal from French outfit Lyon, where he has impressed throughout the season.
He played 34 times for Lyon in the Ligue 1 last season, scoring one goal and creating seven. Having previously been on loan from Amiens, he made the switch permanent after being the mainstay in the heart of midfield.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aula described Tanguy as the ‘new Michael Essien’ when he was brought in to replace the Munich bound Tolisso.
An exciting prospect
Despite being unproven in the Premier League, Ndombele already has the elements of physicality to his game that will help him adjust to the pace of the English League.
And the midfielder is so much more than pace and power, with the ability to affect play in the final third and with as many assists in the previous 2 seasons as Spurs’ Dele Alli.
