Ladies Premier League Trophy

Spurs Ladies end their winless streak of seven

Spurs started well, however, it was Oxford that secured the first goal. Ellis Hillman found some space down the left, and spotted Chloe Chivers in the middle of the box with a curling cross, only for the Oxford forward to head it past the Lilywhite keeper. Not long after, Wendy Martin had a chance to equalise for Spurs after finding herself in a one-on-one with the Oxford keeper Demi Lambourne. However, the Spurs forward was bested by Lambourne who kept the lead intact.

The Spurs equaliser came in the 68th minute. Wiltshire’s shot on goal was blocked with a handball by Hannah Short, giving Tottenham Hotspur a penalty. Lambourne did well to save the penalty, but Haines ran in and secured the rebound. Spurs Ladies then bagged the winner in the 78th minute. Baptiste had space on the right side of the pitch and crossed the ball into Ryah Vyse, who comfortably slotted the ball past Lambourne. The ladies were over the moon with their victory, which hopefully marks a change of fortune for Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs now sit in 6th place in the Women’s Super League 2.
