International Break – The Spurs Players in Action
Here’s all you need to know about which Spurs players are on international duty and who they will be playing during the October International break.
Toby Alderweireld is the only Spurs player in the Belgium squad for their Nations League match against Switzerland and the international friendly versus Holland. His fellow countrymen Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele are both out of Roberto Martinez’s squad with injury.
Lucas Moura is in the Brazil squad for the first time since June 2016 after being called up as a late replacement for Gremio attacker Everton. Moura will not have to travel far because Brazil are currently training at Hotspur Way before their two games against Saudi Arabia and Argentina, both of which will be played in Saudi Arabia.

There is a possibility that he will come up against a Spurs teammate of his in Juan Foyth. The young defender has been called up to the Argentina squad for the first time, despite not playing for Spurs this season, on the basis that he has the potential to be a mainstay in the Argentina setup for a number of years to come.
Hugo Lloris is back in the France squad for their games against Iceland at Guingamp on 11th October and Germany at the Stade de France on 16th October.
Cameron Carter-Vickers is in the United States roster for games against Colombia and Peru. He will come against fellow Spurs teammate Davinson Sanchez who has been named in the Colombian squad for games against the U.S. and Costa Rica.
Kyle Walker-Peters and Josh Onomah are once again in the England under 21 team. They will play qualifiers against Andorra and Scotland as they aim to reach EURO 2019 next year. Manchester City youngster Phil Foden was also named in the squad for the first time.
Harry Winks back in the England Squad
As for the seniors, Harry Kane, Danny Rose, Kieran Trippier, Eric Dier and Harry Winks were all called up for the Nations League games away at Croatia and Spain. Spurs academy graduate Winks made his one and only appearance for the national team last year against Lithuania but could help fix England’s lack of creativity in the midfield. Elsewhere Jadon Sancho, James Maddison and Mason Mount were included in the senior squad for the first time as was Lewis Dunk.
“It’s been a long and difficult path over the last year with injuries so to get back in will be great and I’m just looking forward to getting back together with all the squad and seeing what happens.
With the way the boys performed at the World Cup, I think every game is winnable so I’m really looking forward to the matches against two good teams like Croatia and Spain. It will be good to see what it’s like around the boys and just go from there really.” (Tottenham Hotspur Official)

Son Heung-min is captain of the South Korean squad that will play games against Uruguay and Panama.
Christian Eriksen was not in the Denmark squad for their matches against Austria although manager Age Hareide originally did not rule him out of playing a part. That has since changed though and Eriksen is not expected to feature for his country.
Furthermore, reports that Hareide told Danish media that the injury could be “chronic” are misleading. Here is the actual quote, translated from Danish.
“The sort of injury that Eriksen is experiencing has the chance of becoming chronic and that is what Spurs are hoping not to happen,” (football.london)
Serge Aurier has been included in the Ivory Coast squad despite missing the last three Spurs games with injury. Wilfried Zaha was also included in the team as was Chelsea’ academy goalkeeper Nicolas Tie.
Finally, Ben Davies has been selected in a youthful looking Wales squad by Ryan Giggs. Wales will play Spain in a friendly on 11th October before facing the Republic of Ireland in a Nations League match on the 16th.
