Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which was relatively outdated, has been renovated to a sleek modern design and is now where the fans and supporters enjoy the ultimate matchday experience. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has now replaced their old stadium ‘White Hart Lane’, which they played at for 118 years!
As the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was quite outdated, the club looked for different ways to modernise the stadium and improve the location for the players and the fans. However, they were unsure whether they should make a whole new stadium or refurbish an existing one, and they went ahead with renovating an existing one.
During the 2018/19 season, the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was opened and built with the ultimate matchday experience, including world-class facilities, state of the art design, and excellent acoustics. Thus, ensuring one of the best atmospheres of any club ground in Europe when you purchase your Spurs tickets.

Spurs v West Ham Previous Fixture
West Ham United 1 – 1 Spurs (Tuesday 2nd April 2024)
A London Derby was played between West Ham United and Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs, most recently on Tuesday, 2nd April 2024, at the London Stadium, the Hammers’s home. A spot in the UEFA Champions League was in sight for Spurs as they looked to get closer to achieving this highly prestigious objective with a victory against their East London counterparts.
Ahead of this match against West Ham, Tottenham sat in 5th place with 56 points to their name, knowing that all three points against the Hammers would potentially see them leapfrog Unai Emery’s Aston Villa into fourth place as their race for the final UEFA Champions League continued to intensify.
In their most recent Premier League game before facing West Ham, Spurs had beaten Rob Edwards’ newly promoted Luton Town 2 – 1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Hatters took the lead thanks to a goal from Tahith Chong (3’) before an own goal from their right back Issa Kabore made it 1 – 1 early on in the second half. Son Heung-Min then scored what would turn out to be the winning goal, making it 2 – 1 late on in the contest that was enthralling (86’).
Meanwhile, West Ham United sat in 7th place with no less than 44 points to their name. They were in the final European place with only four points separating them from one of the two UEFA Europa League spots in 5th place, which Manchester United occupied. The Hammers knew that all three points could see them go within just a point of the Red Devils.
In the end, it was a 1 – 1 stalemate between Spurs and West Ham in their game at the London Stadium back on Tuesday 2nd April 2024. It took only five minutes for the first goal to arrive in this game, with Welsh international forward Brennan Johnson finding the back of the net from close range after receiving a ball into his feet from fellow forward Timo Werner (5’).
However, it did not take long for the hosts to equalise, with the Hammers restoring parity before twenty minutes had elapsed thanks to a header from Kurt Zouma, with the Frenchman finding the net thanks to a powerful close-range header after the central defender had managed to meet a cross into the box from a corner kick by Jarrod Bowen (19’).
Both sides had subsequent chances, but the halftime whistle went without another change to the scoreline, with the teams level at 1 – 1 at the break.
James Maddison had an attempt on goal blocked well early in the second half (52’), moments before having another effort from close range blocked well by the Hammers defenders (54’). Brennan Johnson and South Korea international forward Son Heung-Min provided both of these chances for Maddison.
Then, with just over twenty minutes to go, right-back Pedro Porro forced a magnificent save from Lukasz Fabianski from close range. Spurs were denied a second goal, which would have given the lead for the first time in the contest (69’).
Timo Werner then had a shot on goal of his own blocked just a few moments later. The German’s attempt to give his team the lead at the London Stadium was denied with less than twenty minutes to go in the game (72’).
Both sides went on to have chances. One, in particular, came for Spurs deep into stoppage time in the second half. Destiny Udogie was denied a late winner for his club when Fabianski was forced into another excellent save to keep him out and maintain the 1 – 1 scoreline (90+4’).
The full-time whistle then went, with the score level at 1 – 1 at the London Stadium between West Ham United and Spurs.
Spurs dominated possession of the ball with 67.7% over the course of the ninety minutes in East London, while West Ham United had a total of 32.3%. They both had four shots on target each, but the Lilywhites had the most shots overall, with Tottenham having 13 compared with the Hammers’ total of 11.
As a result of this draw, Spurs remained in 5th place, but now, with a total of 57 points – their gap to Aston Villa in fourth place had been reduced to just two following their 4 – 1 defeat to title-chasing Manchester City on the same week. As for West Ham, they remained in 7th place with 45 points. Their gap to Manchester United in 6th place had been reduced to just 3 points because United were defeated 4 – 3 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
