Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which was relatively outdated, has been renovated to a sleek modern design and is now where the fans and supporters enjoy the ultimate matchday experience. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has now replaced their old Stadium ‘White Hart Lane’, which they played at for 118 years!
As the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was quite outdated, the club looked for different ways to modernise the stadium and improve the location for the players and the fans. However, they were unsure whether they should make a whole new stadium or refurbish an existing one, and they went ahead with renovating an existing one.
During the 2018/19 season, the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was opened and built with the ultimate matchday experience, including world-class facilities, state of the art design, and excellent acoustics. Thus, ensuring one of the best atmospheres of any club ground in Europe when you purchase your Spurs tickets.

Spurs v Aston Villa Previous Fixture
Aston Villa 2 – 1 Spurs (Sunday 9th February 2025)
Spurs’ most recent game in the FA Cup against Aston Villa was back on Sunday, 9th February 2025, at Villa Park in the West Midlands. Victory against the Villans would see Spurs secure a place in the fifth round of that season’s FA Cup as they looked to add further silverware to their extensive collection.
Ahead of this game, Tottenham had a third round tie against non-league outfit Tamworth, who they were able to beat 3 – 0 after extra time thanks to an own goal from Nathan Tshikuna (101’), as well as goals from the likes of Dejan Kulusevski (107’) and fellow forward Brennan Johnson in the final moments of the game (118’).
As for Villa, they had faced fellow Premier League outfit West Ham United in the Third Round, beating them 2 – 1 thanks to goals from the likes of Amadou Onana (71’) and Morgan Rogers (76’) against the Hammers at Villa Park. West Ham scored their only goal through Lucas Paqueta, who opened the scoring in the first ten minutes of the game in the first half (9’).
Onto the most recent FA Cup tie between Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa in B6 back in February 2025. In the end, it was the aforementioned Aston Villa who came out on top as 2 – 1 winners in order to book themselves a place in the next round at the expense of Spurs. The Lilywhites will be looking for revenge in January 2026.
It took less than a minute for Villa to take the lead through a close range strike from Jacob Ramsey (1’), which was the first chance for either side in this game. Andres Garcia (13’) and Donyell Malen (14’) then both missed opportunities that arose in quick succession, with just over ten minutes having gone by. Leon Bailey then forced a great save from Spurs ‘keeper Antonin Kinsky (15’).
Spurs’ first significant chance was with almost twenty five minutes gone, when club legend Son Heung-Min looked like he had found the bottom left corner after receiving the ball from Mikey Moore. Son was denied a goal thanks to a stunning save from Emiliano Martinez (24’).
They then missed the target through their Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall, who had received the ball from fellow midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur with just over half an hour having gone in this game (31’).
Djed Spence then had a shot saved just before the half time whistle blew in first half stoppage time (45+2’). Villa led 1 – 0 at half time at Villa Park.
It was Spurs who had the opening chance of the second half through the aforementioned Son, whose shot on goal was well blocked by the Aston Villa defenders after being found via a through ball from Dejan Kulusevski (50’).
After Yves Bissouma had a shot get blocked (54’), and Kulusevski saw his shot being well saved by Martinez (56’), the Villa did eventually get their two goal advantage when England forward Morgan Rogers found the back of the net from very close range (64’). This followed an earlier chance for Jacob Ramsey, who had a shot get saved by Kinsky a few minutes earlier (58’).
Spurs continued to battle in this game, with Bissouma having another shot blocked, and then their Austrian central defender, Kevin Danso, saw his shot fly past the post after meeting a ball into the box from right back Pedro Porro (78’).
Porro then had a shot saved himself a few moments later towards the end of the game (86’), before the aforementioned Son Heung-Min saw his own effort get blocked by the Villa defenders a few minutes later (89’).
Spurs did eventually manage to pull a goal back to halve the deficit in second half stoppage time through their French forward Mathys Tel (90+1’), but it was too late for Spurs, who were narrowly defeated. They will seek revenge in January 2026.
