Done Deal: Arnaut Danjuma joins Tottenham

Latest Tottenham Hotspur Transfer News

For the past few days Everton looked favourites to sign ex-Bournemouth and current Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma.

However, we can now reveal that Tottenham have beaten them to it and the Dutchman has now been confirmed as a Tottenham player on loan for the remainder of the season.

Read on to learn more about the new signing.

Arnaut Danjuma began his career with PSV Eindhoven in 2008, going on to make his professional debut for Jong PSV (PSV’s reserve team) in a second division match against NAC Breda on 7th December 2015, losing 3-0.

The forward decided to leave PSV after just one year at the club, signing for fellow Dutch club NEC Nijmegen in 2016, with the club playing in the Eredivisie (Top Flight).

He very quickly made his Eredivisie debut for the club when he came on as a late substitute in a 4-0 defeat against PSV.

He went on to make 12 appearances over the course of the 2016/17 season scoring a goal.

The following season (2017/18) was a highly successful one for the forward. In 30 appearances in all competitions, he scored 13 goals whilst also providing 17 assists.

After Danjuma’s outstanding season, Belgian giants Club Brugge signed him in July 2018 for a reported fee of €2.8m (£2.4m). His debut came in a 2-1 victory against Standard Liege in the Belgian Super Cup. He scored his first goal in October in a 3-1 Champions League match against Spain’s Atletico Madrid.

In his single season in Belgium (2018/19), the Dutchman made 24 appearances in all competitions, scoring 6 goals with 4 assists provided for his teammates. Brugge ended up finishing in 2nd, just behind league champions KRC Genk.

Danjuma then left for AFC Bournemouth of the Premier League in August 2019 for a reported fee of £13.7m. He went on to make his debut against Burton Albion in the League Cup.

The forward had an outstanding season (2020/21) in the Championship, scoring 15 goals and getting 7 assists in 33 matches, but Bournemouth failed to gain promotion via the play-offs.

As a result of his fine form, Spanish giants Villarreal signed Danjuma for €23.5m (£20.7m) in August 2021. In his first season in Spain (2021/22), he made 34 appearances in all competitions, scoring 16 goals with 4 assists.

He had made 17 appearances for Villarreal this season, with 6 goals to his name.

This is a promising signing as the Dutchman has shown goal scoring and creative qualities throughout his career.
